Buzzband
Rohingyas are ethnic and religious Burmese minority since 4th century AD. Everyday hundreds of the sickest Rohingya refugees stand in long lines for medical care.

Humanitarian crisis are really hard to design. Buzzband is a simple, low-cost, radio-powered solution that could give patients a clear mental model of their place "in line" for medical care, while allowing them to wait where they are most comfortable.

Challenge: Everyday hundreds of the sickest weakest Rohingya refugees form long lines in hot, humid weather to wait for medical care. Without a clear triage system they don't know whether they will wait all day, or even if they they will be seen at all by the doctors.

Opportunity: Imagine how simple, low-cost, radio powered solution could give patients a clear mental model of their place 'in line' for medical care, while allowing them to wait where they are most comfortable.

Solution: This was the spark that became Buzzband - a radio-powered system that helps healthcare providers organize their patients by how urgently they need medical care and allows patients to wait for their turn wherever they feel most comfortable.
